Halpino is a small guest-house, located in an historic building that used to house law offices. The rooms are all named and themed after writers from Mississippi, a cute touch. The building is lovely, comfortable beds, nice shower, free coffee facilities on site. It's a short walk to downtown. Halpino is run by the owners of one of Vicksburg's most historic houses, the Duff Green Mansion. I'm not sure if it is just an off-season perk, but our booking included breakfast at the Mansion and a tour of the building by the owner of both the Mansion and Halpino. She is a wonderful storyteller and her love for the house and Vicksburg were evident. The breakfast and the tour were a great experience. In summary, those wanting a more historic stay would probably stay at the Duff Green Mansion, and more budget travellers at Halpino. Both were great. I'd stay here again.

Set in the historic part of town this is fabulous. The accommodation is very stylish, smart, and everything works as it should. Breakfast is served in the nearby and remarkable Duff Green mansion. Breakfast menu varies daily, we had bacon and eggs, and it was excellent, and great to chat to other guests while enjoying being served food rather than getting round a buffet, this feature of bed and breakfast over a hotel is really worth tracking them down for. The icing on the cake was a fascinating insight to the Mansion by Harley the current owner, which was superb. If you visit the memorial park prior to the tour it will help contextualise this. Location is handy for some good eating places, an easier walk down than back up perhaps but saves driving

The house is in a nice place, in a very quiet street and well wooded. When getting inside, all furnitures and arts are in perfect harmony with everything. My room was awesome! All staffing was great doing their best to make me feel comfortable. Breakfast was at Duff Green Mansion, a block away from Halpino and I felt back in old luxury times. After breakfast, We all had a free guide through the mansion’s history and Vicksburg. I want to give a special thanks to the Duff’s Green Mansion manager and guide, who unfortunately I forgot her name. Forgive me for that.

Great location right in the historic district. Halpino is very unique and that’s what we look for when we travel. The common areas still look like an 80’s law firm. The law books are so cool. I love how Duff Green gives guests all access to the house and they do the same with Halpino. Our room was very comfortable. The mattress and bedding were wonderful! It was very quiet and we couldn’t hear any other guests. The neighborhood is safe. It’s a typical historic district in Mississippi. Think Natchez or Laurel. You are safe. The off street parking area was great.

The location was good. 15 mins to the main high street. We weren’t in the mansion. Stayed in Halpino. It was a good place to stay. Breakfast was just down the road at the mansion house. Lovely house where all the guests have breakfast in the dining room there. Beautifully presented silver wear old fashioned atmosphere. Then there is a guided talk about the history. Very good.
